The Lady Peregrines fell to a record of 2-3 as they missed a chance to upset the #8 Bethel College Pilots on Nov. 17. With a final of 91-80, late turnovers caused PUC to falter down the stretch.

PUC kept the game close in the first half, while making only 30.6 percent of their shots. The Lady Peregrines started off sluggish, according to freshmen guard Alyssa Trinidad.

The Pilots were able to pull down 17 offensive rebounds in the half, allowing for a 40-31 lead at the half.

"Our rebounding killed us," Sara Keilman, senior majoring in business management and communications, said.

Bethel opened up a 20 point lead in the second half before the Lady Peregrines were able to reel them back in.

After several late runs, PUC ran out of time and the Pilots emerged victorious.

Top PUC scorers of the night were sophomore guard Stephaine Beck with 19, junior guard MeMe Harris with 16 and freshmen forward Tierra Turner with 13.

Turner also led the team with 12 rebounds, completing the double-double.

"We need to do a better job at defensive rebounding," Coach Tom Megyesi said. "We need block out as well."
