There are many dates where couples can show how much they care for one another: anniversaries, birthdays, first dates, etc. One date that may stand out in the minds of many is Valentine's Day. Many couples have trouble when it comes to organizing the perfect Valentine's Day date; perhaps they are tired of the same yearly routine or maybe they want to do something memorable for a first Valentine's spent with one another. Whatever the reason, if a unique and romantic evening is on a couple's to-do list, then considering these date ideas may turn a bland Valentine's into a magical one.

Star gazing / Picnic - If weather permits, packing up a night-time picnic, visiting the nearest park or beach, and gazing at the stars above will surely bring out the romance for any couple. If the weather is chilly, bring along some hot chocolate and a blanket, and snuggle up to a loved one.

Dinner / Dancing - While this idea may seem stuffy and traditional, this classic Valentines' Day date is always a good way to go, and the dancing aspect will get most women excited for their night on the town. Couples should plan ahead, by organizing restaurant reservations before Valentine's Day, in order to keep the night flowing effortlessly.

Dinner at Home - For couple's who would rather stay inside, making a romantic dinner at home is an even better way to get closer to the one they love. This idea brings a personal touch to the atmosphere, and makes it easier to create favorite dishes or desserts the other will love.

Ice Skating / Roller Blading - This date idea will bring out the kid in anyone, as well as quench the thirst any active couples may have. Couples can visit Omni 41 for roller blading, or the Midwest Olympic Training Center in St. John, Indiana for indoor ice skating. No matter what the venue, couples will be able to have a blast skating on the rink with one another, and then grab a cozy meal at the snack-shop in the building.

Camping - For outdoorsy couples who want to make a weekend of the holiday, and don't mind the cooler weather, camping may be the best idea for them. Cozying up to one another by the fire, roasting marshmallows or snuggling up in a tent will surely be a perfect Valentine's Day date for any adventurous couple.

Sight-Seeing - Many couples just love to spend time with one another, seeing the sights of the world around them. Luckily, many couples in this region are able to hop on a train and visit Chicago. Keeping that in mind, many attractions could lead to the perfect Valentine's Day date location. For example, taking one another to the Art Museum, Aquarium, Planetarium, or even Buckingham Fountain could leave lasting memories for years to come.

Always keep in mind, no matter what the Valentine's Day Date, just remember to have fun with all ideas; and always be yourself, because chances are, that is the real reason you have the date to begin with!
