French said Ford endured insult, retaliation and isolation because he did not agree with PUC's morality.
"People of faith who disagree with the university's point of view are treated like second-class citizens," French said.
French said heavy discrimination against Ford started after he wrote a letter to the editor at The Times regarding his stance on same-sex marriage. French said there was a series of meetings held regarding Ford's position as a graduate student and whether he should remain in the program. Ford was refused letters of recommendation - something necessary for getting into a doctoral program, French said.
French said Darwin West, a 1999 graduate of the program and a Mormon, came forward after hearing about Ford's case.
West also allegedly suffered discrimination for his religious beliefs while enrolled in the master's program for MFT at PUC. According to the lawsuit, West faced a situation where he sought further counsel on a client with a professor. The professor and West disagreed with the treatment of the case and his client was reassigned, as stated in the lawsuit.
Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Wes Lukoshus declined comment because the lawsuit is pending.
Flannery, Trepper, Wetchler and the law firm representing PUC were not available for comment.

Seems like PUC is host to a lot of discrimination towards students and faculty. PUC is the recipient of another lawsuit...

How did you sue teachers? My graduate advisor and head of the Bioscience Technoloiges at Thoms Jefferson University, "Dr. Esther Biswas" went to India on a vacation while we had 2 months of internship with her so we did blindly what we were not promised (yah! we paid tuiton!) , on top of that we students had to help her move her boxes into her truck, into another "lab", calibrate micropipettes, organize stock rooms for the "Summer at Jefferson" where she gets paid, and do custodial jobs rather than being taken with respect, Oh! endless.
