For 14 years, I owned a business in downtown Evanston that greatly benefited from the existence of Northwestern University. The university supported me in ways that went beyond patronizing my business, and they made me feel as though I were part of the NU family.

After four years at Northwestern, economics Prof. Lillian Kamal will be leaving to pursue what she said is "a tenure-track position at a university in the Northeast."
Kamal began teaching at NU in Fall 2004, right after completing graduate school.
"Northwestern is a fantastic school," she said.

"You see that barrel?" said Robert Blue, pointing to a large, black garbage bin. "That's my stuff." Shards of broken pottery threatened to overflow the barrel's rim, as Blue methodically emptied his ceramics of rainwater, checked them for cracks and either dumped them in the barrel or restored them to their proper case for storage.
